Shannon Cheung MH, JP is the Founder and Chairman of Averest Capital Group, a single-family office and venture-building platform partnering with founders to build and scale category-defining businesses across healthcare, biotechnology, technology, digital media, and consumer sectors.
He brings more than 30 years of experience across investment banking, corporate finance, venture investment, and company building. His work focuses on capital formation, strategic partnerships, institutional development, and crossborder expansion, particularly in sectors where technological and regulatory innovation can accelerate commercialization and long-term value creation.
Shannon is a co-founder or founding partner of several high-growth businesses, including Likang Life Sciences, All Football, Hero Esports and Hero Games. His broader venture-building and investment experience spans life sciences, digital ecosystems, gaming, healthcare services, and consumer platforms.
Before founding Averest, Shannon held senior roles in investment banking, including at HSBC, where he advised on IPOs, equity financings, M&A transactions, and other cross-border transactions. This combination of capital markets experience and entrepreneurial involvement continues to shape his approach as a long-term builder and strategic partner.
In recognition of his public and community service, he was awarded the Medal of Honour in 2014 and appointed Justice of the Peace in 2019 by the Hong Kong SAR Government.
